Personal Assistance

We take giving help to your family personally.

The Personal Assistance Program helps participants focus, interact, and socialize in public and private settings such as the home, school, a volunteer site, and/or a job site. Personal assistants provide supervision, accompany the participant to various locations, and facilitate the integration, education, and socialization of the participant’s life. The Personal Assistance service can be used on a long-term or short-term basis, depending on the needs of the participant.

Once a participant is referred to us, we implement a screening process for their personal assistant in compliance with California Title 17 guidelines. This process takes only a few days from the time we receive the completed enrollment forms. Once the personal assistant is approved, participants are in charge of their training and supervision while Aveanna Support Services handles:

  • Issuing paychecks or direct deposits with all applicable withholdings
  • Processing and remitting all payroll taxes and issuing W-2 income tax forms
  • Covering the care providers under Aveanna’s employment insurance policies

Participants and their personal assistants have access to our online time card system, allowing them to submit their hours with the push of a button on their smartphone, tablet, or computer. They are also able to track their services via specialized dashboards and receive technical support from our dedicated, multilingual team.
